Cynthia Canez, MC, LAC
Hello, my name is Cynthia Canez. I hold a Masters in Counseling and am a Licensed Associate Counselor in the state of Arizona. I specialize in working with pre-teens and teenagers on a range of topics including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, life transitions and trauma processing. When working with children it’s important for me to include parents in on the process and take a full systems approach so support is given in all areas. I also have extensive experience working with adults and children that have experience trauma, grief, and general mental health concerns and I'm well versed in working with LGBTQIA populations and enjoy helping others explore their identity.
I have an extensive background in working with survivors of trauma and abuse and view all through a trauma informed lens. My background includes running DBT and safety skill building groups, thus stabilization and self-care are important aspects of my approach. I take a client centered approach and utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt Techniques, and Motivational interviewing to address client concerns. I look forward to working with you and providing the safe environment needed for personal growth.
